ACE National (Action for Carers in Employment) is a national project led by Carers UK. The intial project operated in England and Wales and focused on the barriers facing individual carers who want to work.
From May 2005 Carers Scotland will be the lead partner in Scotland and will take forward a partnership initiative with the Association of Directors of Social Work and the Equal Opportunities Commission .
The Voice of Carers Initiative will aim to raise awareness of the rights and needs of carers and promote change in the way that carers are involved in the design, development, delivery and review of services.

Why support working carers?
In Scotland, there are over 600,000 carers with 250,000 holding down a paid job. It is vital for organisations to put in place flexible and practical support to enable carers to continue to work while retaining carers' essential skills and knowledge. -
