Care 21 priorities - health

The Scottish Executive response to Care 21: the future of unpaid care in Scotland identified four initial priorities for action.  These are young carers, respite and short breaks, carers' health and training for carers.

GP support for carers

New enhanced service arrangements with GPs have been established which provide incentives for GP practices to identify carers, set up carer registers and refer carers to appropriate local support. Download further information here. Annex E details arrangements relating to carers.
